"It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do little - do what you can." ~Sydney Smith
Well, these little (as young as 5 years old) and not-so-little swimmers did something. More than 40 swimmers swam to raise relief funds for the tsunami/earthquake victims of Japan. We are SO PROUD of each of them. Thank you, swimmers, coaches, parents, for all the hard work. We are still taking pledges as each swimmer collect them until the end of the month. Thank you to all of you who donated already to this worthy cause!
Here are images...in black and white. I wanted to capture their "souls."

Our unconventional 33-yard pool
Getting ready for the 'thon...
These boys are ready to rock & roll...
Parents & family members ready to help tally their laps.
And they're OFF!
For the next half an hour, all you can hear was the splashing of the water. It was surreal.
Five minutes have passed and the youngest batch of the swimmers had swam this many laps already!
MOMS rock this place. DADS, too! They're the swimmers' #1 supporters.
30 minutes later! They DID it! WOOHOO!!!
GREAT JOB, swimmers!
Families are a big part of this effort. THANK YOU for being there.
Swimmers were anxious to know how many laps they swam. Some did as much as 70+ laps.

Have a wonderful EASTER celebration!
Great photos! The music compliments them very well. The images truly capture the swimmer's soul. I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteThank you,
Nam Tran
You're welcome, Nam. I enjoyed it as much moreso because they're doing something bigger than themselves.

Dear Christine,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pictures with us. What a great way to celebrate Easter with the meaningful event. We are so happy to sponsor Sidney. She's a delightful young lady.
