Day 1 - Saturday, January 16th, Afternoon SessionCatching the last event of Session A
This is always my favorite sight: Teammates cheering for each other!
Day 2 - Sunday, January 17th
Our family, as many families, traveled many miles through the heavy storm hoping to make it to this weekend's 2nd day (out of 3) in a timely manner. As we rushed to the pool, we found the place unusually less crowded. Ordinarily, it would be swarming with swimmers making high decibel noises. Much to our surprise, it was nearly deserted.
The timing devices hung feebly, obviously untouched.
No swimmers shivering as they await for their turn to practice their diving.
Towels were left drying on rails.
Even the flags did not waver.
That was NOT the beginning of a series of unfortunate events. It happened much earlier, but I will spare you of any detail. Let's just say, it was a LONG weekend indeed.
Here are photos you would most probably prefer to view. If you took photos from either days, please burn them on a CD and deliver via Sydney or Diego so we can include them here. Thanks.
Warming up in the rain can be fun.
But staying warm before and after warm-ups especially in the cold was, unquestionably, NOT fun!
Session B officially resumed at 3:00 pm
Session A was resuming at 4:30 pm and Finals thereafter so I got a few shots of the older kids.
And some swim moms.

Day 3 - Monday, January 18th
We (Sydney & I) left the house a little after 9 am just in time to grab myself a cup of coffee. My cell phone rang. Lo and behold, the meet was completely cancelled due to the same reason it was delayed the day before. Thanks, Jeanette and Ed, for letting me know just before I cross the Golden Gate Bridge in the heavy rain!
I shall leave you with that.
Till the next post.
p.s. Check out OUR FAMILIES post (http://rossiswimteam.blogspot.com/2009/09/our-families.html) for any new families, and old. If we don't have your family picture, please make sure I get one of you OR you can email me a jpeg file. Happy browsing.
p.s. I'd love to hear from you. Leave me a comment on how I can better take photos and/or what else can I include.
