NAPA VALLEY Swim Meet • November 12-13, 2011

"Mainly, I like to have fun. Swimming is all about having fun, and I am firm believer that you should keep swimming as long as you are having fun, but I can say that it becomes much more fun as you get older and learn more about the sport, life, and especially more about yourself". ~Scott Goldblatt

There you have it, young swimmers. You might as well enjoy this sport now so you get to enjoy it more =.)

November Birthdays!

"I like spring, but it is too young. I like summer, but it is too proud. So I like best of all autumn, because its tone is mellower, its colours are richer, and it is tinged with a little sorrow. Its golden richness speaks not of the innocence of spring, nor the power of summer, but of the mellowness and kindly wisdom of approaching age. It knows the limitations of life and its content." ~Lin Yutang

“The nice thing about teamwork is that you always have others on your side.” ~Margaret Carty

WORD FROM TINA VU (Team VP)

Hi Everyone,
Congratulations to the Rossi Swim Team!  We had a great meet this weekend and did quite well. Our team came in 4th overall out of 31 teams entered in the meet - only about 55+ points or so away from 3rd. We did not get a trophy this year but hopefully can place next year!
We'd like to acknowledge a few of the families for putting in extra effort this year since we had to handle hospitality for the meet on short notice:
Brian and Irene (Kaitlyn/Emily's parents) for going to the meet early on Friday to get our team a great space for set-up for the meet and Peter and Jennie (Taylor/Tyler/Sophia's parents) for taking down and bringing back all the canopies and helping out with team photography.

Nam and Jeannie (Nathaniel's parents) and Thuy and Duc (Amberlynn's parents) for ordering and prepping everything for the Vietnamese sandwiches served on Saturday.

Ed/Uncle Ed (Emily's dad) for ordering all the Chinese food for Sunday's meal and for Coach Mike who ran errands with us at Costco on Friday.

Coach Billy for picking up the food and lapcounters on Sunday.

Jeremy Vu (Jared/Jordan/Brooke's dad) for being our only official for both days allowing our team to get points at this meet.

Christine Leong (Sydney/Diego's mom) for being there to photograph the team for our wonderful blog!

And a big THANK YOU to all our
Rossi parents that stepped in to time and prepare all the snacks and meals. It was really a team effort and we're so happy that everyone participated.
FYI, the Vallejo team that ran the meet said that we were "The Bomb".  Everyone really enjoyed all the food that we came up with and hope we can do something again. Oh dear....
And let's not forget the best - our kids were wonderful. Many of them volunteered to help with prep work and served the timers, coaches and officials too. Great job!
Cheers!
Tina
And THANK YOU, Tina, for ALL you do at every single meet.
Enjoy these snapshots from that day! Thanks, Emily (Woo) for taking some pictures for me. We might not have received a trophy that day but I think we got first place in teamwork. Go Rossi!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OCTOBER BABIES!

"October's the month
When the smallest breeze
Gives us a shower
Of autumn leaves.
Bonfires and pumpkins,
Leaves sailing down -
October is red
And golden and brown."

Have a Fabulous Birthday!
