Day at the Meet | Zone 3 Championship July 2014 | Vallejo, Ca

A good snapshot stops a moment from running away. ~Eudora Welty

I don't know about you but I'm SO grateful for our team's parent-photographers (namely Mr. Peter Tran, Mr. Gary Wong, Mr. William Chen and more) for capturing awesome images for this blog. I seldom carry my SLR camera these days for obvious reasons. They're heavy and sometimes really, I do get a photographer's block, a creative block! While my little iPhone does its job, I would then wish I had my SLR =.( All the same, enjoy these "day at the meet" images in between timing and socializing with my swim moms.

And CONGRATULATIONS for snatching that coveted Zone 3 Championship 1st place trophy.
Y'all worked doubly hard and deserve it.
Now back to work.

Please make sure you check out the photos posted in the previous posts.

 Other reminders:

-Don't forget to register for the Morgan Hill Meet and sign up for the relay team.
Sign up sheet is up already.

- I'm still collecting Graduation photos. Please those in, too.

- There's also an annual event on August 16th. Make sure you check in with Ms. Irene and Ms. Tina to let them know you're coming.

Happy August! Whoa! Already!

ZONE 3 Championship Meet | Cunningham Pool, Vallejo • July 26-27, 2014 - PART 2

And you definitely can't beat these images taken by Mr. Peter Tran! Enjoy the win and as Posey once said after winning the World Series, "Let's get back to work and make another run at it." In this case, make another swim at it! CONGRATULATIONS!

Young Lifeguards at the Pool

Seventy-five percent of our planet is water - can you swim? ~Author Unknown

A couple of weeks ago, I brought a small group of kids & adults from our church for mid-day recreational swimming. Lo & behold, the place was guarded by these young people whom I've known pretty much since they were littler. It was great to see familiar faces knowing all who were swimming that day were well-watched over.

These "kids" swum rigorously helping the team win several meets in the past. Now they're in/off to college (except Tucker, not yet =.) Thankful for their dedication beyond swimming with the team.

Once a Manta Ray, always a Manta Ray.

ZONE 3 Championship Meet | Cunningham Pool, Vallejo • July 26-27, 2014

The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand. ~Vince Lombardi

Cheers to a very exciting and successful Zone 3 Championship Meet! This weekend for the very first time, our team took home the 1st place trophy for our Zone. Congratulations to our Coaches for their time and commitment and all our swimmers who swam their hardest to come away with this award. Our final team total was 2945.5, the 2nd place team Vallejo scored 2482, and 3rd place Marin Pirates had 2442.

Thank you also to all the parents for helping out. This meet requires so much parent participation and our Rossi family parents put in a lot of time and effort. Again! Please let us know if you are interested in training to be an official. We were short on officials at this meet as only Jeremy was able to make it.

Here is a picture from Jennie and Peter Tran of the trophy and point totals. Thank you for all your help coordinating volunteers and site set up for the team.

~Ed, Irene and Tina

If you took photos from the past weekend, (I heard there were many photos taken at the end of meet celebration,) please email links (preferably) or send jpeg files directly to tomatokiwi@sbcglobal.net so we can include them on this blog.

Check out PHOTOS HERE taken by Mr. Gary Wong (Elizabeth, Victoria, Margaret & Benjamin's dad). Thanks, Gary!
Also, PLEASE don't forget to give proper credit to the photographer whenever you use any images from this blog. We're so blessed with talented parent-photographers!
