ZONE ALL-STAR • March 7, 2011

To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice your gift. ~Steve Prefontaine
Six Rossi swimmers were eligible to compete with the Zone 3 team in the All-Star meet last weekend.
It poured relentlessly the entire time. But I can tell you this much: it wasn't as cold as the previous meet in Napa. I'm speaking for myself, not for the swimmers =.\
One of the highlights that weekend is that they all get to stay at a hotel getting to know their teammates (from different Zone 3 teams).  It was like one big sleep-over with chaperones all over, of course.  I know my daughter enjoyed this experience.
These meets will not exist without the support of families (both young and old.)  Thank you for always being there!
Although Zone 3 (in black caps) didn't place 1st, 2nd or even 3rd, the experience in itself is worth taking home and using it as a launching pad for the next meet--All-Star or not.
Till then, work hard, play hard.  Most importantly, stay connected with your loved ones especially in this day and age when the tendencies are to be "too busy." I know. I'm guilty of such.

With that said, go HEREfor more photos. Also, Nathan's uncle, Daniel Do, took awesome pictures that day.  Check it out HERE where he put together a slideshow with professionally-done collages. He'd like to come again and take more photos.  Is that cool or what?  "Thanks, Daniel. Looking forward to seeing you soon."

In the meantime, we hope to get more Rossi swimmers join the All-Star meet next year.  So, let's get to work.  And remember...

NAPA MEET • February 25-27, 2011

There is little chance that meteorologists can solve the mysteries of weather until they gain an understanding of the mutual attraction of rain and weekends.  ~Arnot Sheppard

That weekend was the coldest meet I've been to.  Snow & rain were in the forecast for that weekend, and I'm ever so glad it didn't.  It was so cold that my fingers were so numb, I couldn't even press the camera shutter nor had the desire to take my hands off my pockets where it's nice & toasty with handwarmers. It did get a little warmer later on Saturday and the sun came out on Sunday but still nippy.

Nonetheless, I took some but not of everyone.  If you'd like to share some of your photographs, please send me a link or a CD so we can include them in here.  Here's some for your enjoyment.
Wishing you're having a warmer week than then.  From our family to yours.
Thank you to ALL the families who participated and helped make the meet comfortable for our swimmers.  Click HERE for some more.  And get to know our Rossi families HERE.
