Rossi Swim Team Christmas Party | December 8, 2012

Christmas season is a time of meaning and traditions, a special day spent in the warm circle of family and friends. ~Margaret Thatcher

Another fun and warm time spent with family and friends at the House of Air and then at Kome Restaurant. Thank you, (Mr.) Ed & (Auntie) Tina, for once again putting together such a fantastic event for our swimmers and families. And thank you, (Ms.) Shirley, for doing the Secret Santa exchange gifts. Whatever you received that day, or will be receiving in the following weeks, remember to always be thankful. It is all done in good cheer. Don't let disappointment (of not getting what you wanted) creep into your hearts lest you become ungrateful and miss the blessings of this special time.

Last but not least, thank you, (Mr.) Peter, for capturing the day's event. Here's a few shots from that day. To see more, go to this LINK for more action and still shots. If you took photos that day, please feel free to share with everyone.

Awards mean a lot, but they don't say it all. The people...mean more to me than statistics. ~Ernie Banks
Congratulations to our record-breaking swimmers! Wishing you and everyone else the best in the coming year.
For our annual Christmas blogpost, please send in a jpeg file of your family's Christmas photo to my attention. It can be candid or formal. See last year's post. We'd like to see MORE! Thank you.

Braving the Storm!

In rain, hail and STORM, swimmers still swim. They never call off any meets. Unless someone or something contaminates the pool -- the only known reason! (See post in Jan 2010--scroll down to the end of the post.)

Watch this LINK to hear, feel and get an idea of how harsh the weather was at last weekend's Junior Olympics. You just can't capture that in still photography. You've got to see in action. Thanks, Jennie (Mrs. Ho-Tran), for filming amidst the chaos. You guys are real troopers!

A Little Mishap

The ideal man bears the accidents of life with dignity and grace, making the best of circumstances. ~Aristotle

Due to a minor mishap, photos were deleted from this blog by accident. It is in the slow process of being retrieved. It may take a while so please be patient and enjoy the ones that are still intact.

Thank you. And enjoy this season with your loved ones.

See you Saturday. Don't forget to bring your signed waiver forms.

Pacific Swimming 14&U Junior Olympic Championships, Morgan Hill | Nov 30th - Dec 2nd, 2012

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. ~Henry Ford

A short account of this past weekend's JO meet by Mr. Peter Tran, "The weather was so bad...our canopies broke from the strong wind while setting up today. It was raining hard. I have never seen so many broken canopies."

But that didn't prevent the swimmers with their families from coming to this anticipated meet. Thanks, coaches & parents, for sticking it out with our swimmers to perform their best. Thanks, Peter, for even attempting to take photos in such unpleasant condition. We're happy to view the ones you managed to take and share!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GIANTS! You make our City proud.

Check out this awesome video montage from the Chronicles. Photo courtesy of The Chronicles.
And please let's not forget the victims of Hurricane Sandy in the midst of the Giants' victory (no matter what the narrator of this montage said.) You can easily give to Red Cross or other organization of your choice to help out.

Zone 3 Championships • Vallejo, CA | October 19-21, 2012

Winning takes talent, to repeat takes character. ~John Wooden

Enjoy Zone 3 photos by Mr. Stephen Wong (Brandon's dad). Thanks for always sharing!

Message from Tina & Ed (Team Officers)
Congratulations to our team on an extremely successful Zone 3 Championships! For the first time ever, the RAYS came away from this meet with a 3rd place trophy out of twenty-six Zone 3 teams. It was really exciting and at one point we were only 10 points behind for 3rd place. It was very close between our team and the Santa Rosa Neptunes. The swimmers performed really well in a clutch and the relays were very exciting to watch!
Great job to our coaches, swimmers, and officials and thank you to all our parents! Everyone pitched in to do their share-timing and marshaling non-stop during this meet. It was really great that we had such team spirit and support!
A special thank you to the Michaud and Ho-Tran families for always coming early, lugging the canopies and setting up our team area for everyone!
We really appreciate it!
~Tina & Ed
