Pool Away from POOL...

"Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do." ~John Wooden

I am deeply encouraged at how the families are reaching out amongst themselves...not letting the distance to hinder them from getting their swimmers from one place to another.

With the temporary closure of Rossi (due to maintenance & repair), it's no small task nor a short trek to either Sava or King.  And with the new school year just starting, things can be overwhelming. But our Rossi swimmers (veteran and novice) seem to be adapting fairly well with all the changes they're faced with. It can be grueling, especially for parents (like me) who are not too keen with extra driving and changes.

Yes, we (I) miss our home pool. It's our second home. The familiarity, the comfort, the convenience, a safe place for my own kids to be in. But it's just...temporary, in passing. All these, if anything, will come to pass.

Before you know it, we'll be back.  But in the meantime, the coaches/swimmers are training for the mandatory Morgan Hill Meet on Labor Day weekend. (Make sure you sign up if you haven't. It's still open, I just checked.) There's really no time to slack off.

So...keep training!

GO ROSSI GO!

Note: If you, parents/swimmers/coaches, have any articles/photos you'd like to post here, please let me know. Have an awesome weekend.

Summer's End Swim Classic

"I've always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come. I don't do things half-heartedly. Because I know if I do, then I can expect half-hearted results." ~Michael Jordan

Here are some photos from the last weekend's swim meet in Pleasant Hill. Nathaniel, Krystal, Clayton, Kyle & Amberlynn won the high-point trophy award. Nathan and Krystal won the 8-year old gold, Clayton and Amberlynn won the 7-year old silver, and Kyle won the 6-year old silver. Everyone did great. We had a blast. Thanks to our head-coach, Coach Michael, who was there for the kids in the scorching heat for three days. ~Nam Tran (who also took the following photos...thanks, Nam!)

It's been a grueling summer with the many hours of swim practices. And it's awesome to see, especially, the younger swimmers' hard work pay off.  Congratulations, Rossi Swimmers. You ROCK!

2011 International Children's Games (Lanakshire, Scotland)

Two of our very own Rossi swimmers will be part of the San Francisco team. After months of preparation and anticipation, it's finally here. Joshua Lu (l) and Warren Liang (r), along with other swimmers from the City, will take part in this exciting event.  Wishing you and the San Francisco team the best.  Have a blast! Check out ICG's website HERE for schedule of events.
