SAN JOSE Meet • 3.13.10

I enjoyed every bit of my swimming career. I think that's the most important advice, "to enjoy what you do." ~Summer Sanders, 1992 Double Gold Medallist
We only had a handful of swimmers who attended this very crowded meet!
The pool was swarming with swimmers.  And some didn't even have the chance to warm-up.
This time, our team didn't have to time.
It was indeed a beautiful day.  If you recall, the day before was pouring cats & dogs.  But we were still at the tail end of winter, so the air was a bit nippy especially under the shade.
The kids kept themselves busy.  Amazingly, not too much electronics that day.  They were entertained with the latest toy craze: GO-GOs.
Our team settled adjacent to a huge recycling bin where the kids dug up some old cardboards and converted them into toys.  I didn't think much about shooting the earlier contraptions they made until towards the end.  (Now I wish I did!)  It was very innovative and quite amusing.
Unfortunately, some of the officials didn't think so, and confiscated their harmless gadgets!  By doing so, they took away their imagination!
But not for long.  They found other things to occupy themselves.  I think they call it, "The Knot."  (Feel free to correct me.)
The adults were entertained watching the kids get all tangled and untangled up.
Here's some fun shots.
Here's the 11-12 kids
with some parents.
Nice to see some brotherly love, as well.
I seldom take a photo of myself but here's one of me (can you see me?) with our other blog photographer, Peter Tran.
Have a great week, everyone.

And make sure you check OUR FAMILIES page.  And if I haven't included your family and/or any of your family members in our blog, please ask me anytime at the pool.  I almost always have a camera with me.  We'd love to include you in our blog.
